Catholic Faith Formation, formerly called CCD, is available for young people of St. Paul Parish, Pre-School through High School. This page will provide you with information about CFF, generally, and this year's classes specifically.  For general information about our goals click here. Goals of St. Paul Parish C.F.F.

The goals of our Catholic Faith Formation at St. Paul Parish are to:

bring about in our children a deeper knowledge and love of Jesus Christ and a growing faith in him
prepare children of all ages to receive the sacraments
prepare non-baptized children and youth to be received into the 
prepare non-baptized children and youth to be received into the 
prepare non-baptized children and youth to be received into the church
nourish the faith journey of our youth and integrate them into active parish life
enable parents to be the most influential agents of catechesis for their children
provide family catechesis as an option for parishioners in their faith formation
make available adult enrichment processes to parishioners who seek to understand more about their Catholic faith
 

Registration and Fee Schedule

Registration closed August 15th and there is a fee of $50 for late registration.

Classes begin: AUGUST 29TH

Classes to be held on:

Sunday: 10:15am—11:30am and 12:15 p.m.—1:30 p.m.

Tuesday: 6:15pm—7:30pm

ONLY children of registered parishioners will be accepted into the upcoming C.F.F. year.

ALL children registered must provide a copy of their Baptismal record. Please call the office 381-5200 for any additional information.

SACRAMENT PREPARATION PROCESS

BAPTISM

Children 4 years old and younger: – Parents and Godparents attend a class from 7:00 P.M. to 8:30 P.M. held on the 3rd Thursday of each month at the Old Hall. Arrangements for baptism (on 4th Saturday at 10:00 A.M.) and baptism class are made through the Parish Office. Contact Shirley Brown at (916) 381-5200.

Children 5 to 9 years old – Children and their parents and Godparents attend a baptism preparation class held on the 3rd Thursday of each month at the Old Hall.  The children will have to join CFF according to their grade level.  Special baptism classes, separate from their Sunday CFF, will be scheduled for them.  Arrangements for CFF classes are made through the Director of Religious Education.  Arrangements for baptism (on 4th Saturday at 10:00 A.M.) are made through the Parish Office. Children 10 to 15 years old - Children and their parents and Godparents attend the 2-year RCIA class to be held on Wednesdays at 6:30 P.M. to 7:30 P.M. at Room 5 and the CYO Hall.  Baptism takes place during the Easter Vigil.

Children 16-17 years old - Children and their parents and Godparents attend the 2-year RCIA class to be held on Thursdays at 7:00 P.M. to 8:30 P.M. at the CYO Hall.  Baptism takes place during the Easter Vigil.

SACRAMENT PREPARATION PROCESS

FIRST RECONCILIATION & FIRST EUCHARIST

2nd Grade - Children receive their First Reconciliation and First Eucharist after they have completed two years of Faith Formation. The First Eucharist ceremonies are usually held on the third weekend in May.

3rd – 4th Grade - Children in these grade levels will have a special class for First Eucharist preparation.  They receive their First Reconciliation and First Eucharist after they have completed two years of Faith Formation. After they have received the First Eucharist they will join their respective regular grade levels on the following year for their Faith Formation class.

5th to 10th Grade - Children in these grade levels will undergo a two-year RCIA process held on Wednesdays at 6:30 P.M. to 7:30 P.M. at the CYO Hall. The First Eucharist ceremony is done during the Easter Vigil.

11th to 12th Grade - Teens will join the adults in the two-year RCIA process held on Thursdays at 7:00 P.M. to 8:30 P.M. The First Eucharist ceremony is done during the Easter Vigil.

SACRAMENT PREPARATION PROCESS

CONFIRMATION

8th Grade - Children receive Confirmation after completing the 2-year Confirmation preparation (starts at Grade 7). They are required to perform 20 hours of community service and participate in a weekend retreat (Friday evening to Sunday afternoon). Confirmation is scheduled by the Bishop’s Office, usually in the spring.


8th to 10th Grade - Teens will undergo a two-year RCIA process held on Wednesdays at 6:30 P.M. to 7:30 P.M. Their Confirmation ceremony takes place during the Easter Vigil.


11th to 12th Grade - Teens will join the adults in the two-year RCIA process held on Thursdays at 7:00 P.M. to 8:30 P.M. Their Confirmation ceremony takes place during the Easter Vigil.
