CFF UPDATE!

Our Children’s CFF program is currently presenting a 2 year program for the preparation for Confirmation and it is proving very successful.

The program for First Communion has also been expanded to a 2 year program for students.

Children normally receive First Communion in 2nd grade. The children currently in 1st grade will continue their program with the second year in First Communion classes and will receive the Sacrament in May 2008.

All other students up to and including 5th grade will be required to complete a 2 year program. Continuing registration for the 2007-2008 year will begin as soon as classes end in May. Priority is given to continuing students.

For those who are new to our program, or were unable to register last year, open registration ends September 9th.

Adult Faith Formation

This ministry is designed to help adult Catholics grow in their faith. The goal is to help parishioners develop their core skills in the faith, to involve faith in their everyday life, and to share their faith with the world.

Two Programs are held periodically through the year and are announced in the Church bulletin and here on the web site. They are RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults), and the Catholic Update.

RCIA: Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults
This ministry provides services to all those unbaptized adults (catechumens) who are  interested in becoming Catholic and for adults who have been baptized (candidates) and are seeking to complete the sacraments of First Communion and Confirmation.

Regular sessions are held every Thursday night CYO hall.

If you know of a person who wishes to know more about our faith, or if you are interested in sponsoring a catechumen or candidate,  please call Peggy Clark, 683-2221 or 402-2182 [cell], or the rectory at 916-381-5200 for additional information.

Vocations Committee

The Vocations Committee of St. Paul Catholic Church is called to a ministry of fostering vocations, especially to ordained ministry and religious life. Two programs the Vocations Committee is presently working on are:

Vocations Cross Program - Each Sunday a family, couple or individual comes forward at the end of Mass to receive the vocation cross and prayers. In welcoming the cross into their homes, they commit to pray during the week for the increase of vocations to the priesthood and religious life. At the end of the week they return the cross and prayers for the next hosting family. This occurs week after week.

Adoration for Vocations Program - members of the vocation committee and all parishioners are invited to unite in praying before the Blessed Sacrament for an hour followed by the celebration of the Holy Mass for an increase of vocations to the Church. This program is presently being developed at St. Paul Parish.

If you are interested in sharing your God-given time, talents, and treasures for this cause call the office at 916-381-5200 and ask for Flor Manela.
